Sections of the Journal

The works published in the Journal de Comunicación Social can fall within the areas described in Section I, "Mission," of the editorial guidelines of the journal, or in areas that address related themes that link communication—in connection with the Social Sciences in general—with other fields of knowledge. The sections that are published are as follows:

Research Articles

This section provides a detailed report on original and unpublished research (including case studies). As such, it should describe the research process with an introduction, a review of the state of the art and theoretical framework, a description of the methods employed, results, and an interpretative section with discussion and conclusions.

Essays and Other Contributions

In this section, advances in research, literature reviews, theoretical or methodological articles, interviews, essays, and conference papers are published. These contributions are aimed at enhancing academic understanding of the issues specified in the objectives of this call for submissions.

Documents

Occasionally, the journal publishes unpublished or edited documents that are relevant to the thematic field of this journal.

Reviews

These are brief texts that provide novel, relevant, and well-supported reflections and analyses on significant or recently published works within the research lines of the journal.
